Clouds Came Rolling In

The Fray - All At Once

Yeah, I know. I have abandoned my blog once again. Been busy catching up with some personal stuff. I haven't really dig into practising my guitar skills just yet. It's still sitting there by the corner collecting dust. And I feel so guilty for splurging on it xD Aside from all those peesh-posh, I've been catching up on all the latest movies. Well, almost all of em... Haven't been going out with meh buddies since Thursday, just several outings with my family. Was supposed to be on a holiday trip, but my dad's car was trapped and bound in the workshop. It literally feels like I've lost my legs. I've depended so much on that car, AND MY DAD, so now that it's temporarily dysfunctional, I feel stranded! But all hail, thankfully he's getting the car back today. I'm so hoping that it's all problem free now so I can go on with my shopping spree. Yeah, I know. How sinful right? But I'm in crave for some serious shopping you know. Not just some leisure outing where you go for a movie or pool session. Serious shopping! Like when you spend friggin greens till you burn a hole in your pocket xD Haven't done that in a long while. Been wasting so much money on movies and stuff. Speaking of movies.... I'm gonna write a review out of em.

First stop, the most anticipated. Correction : MY most anticipated...

I have to say, it was rather disappointing. It's like they have ran out of jokes and just threw in anything they had in mind. In my opinion, Shrek 2 was much better compared to the first movie. So, naturally I expected Shrek the Third to be "the bomb". Unfortunately, it wasn't! But, I enjoyed the enhanced graphic. Some of the new characters were rather interesting. Especially the awesomely adorable Donkey juniors. But the thought of how they were created was rather disturbing! Anyhow, it was not as enjoyable as the previous sequels. Not really suitable for kids either, it will bore them. My youngest brother stayed put only for the first 15 minutes, then he went on with his own playtime.

Next off :

The best of the Trilogies

I can't really comment much on this movie because I was rather clueless throughout the storyline. I practically forgot some incy wincy events from the previous sequels. So, while watching this movie I was like "huh? what? who?" So, now I have to dig into my archives for Pirates the first and second then watch this again. It's really interesting. One of the best adventure flick to watch. Although in this 3 long hours movie everything seemed crammed up, at least they solved a LOT of questions. I have a feeling that this will be the last, but I've heard rumours about the fourth.

A man in a black suit. Doubles up the sexy-ness!

Sam Raimi has done it again. He has succeeded once again to execute a highly anticipated movie to compete with other trilogies. But, I would have to say it could have been better. The storyline was good. There seem to be progress in Peter Parker and MJ's relationship, FINALLY. Harry Osbourne turned out to be a nice guy instead of a villian eventually, Thank Goodness. Although, I was disapointed that he died in the end. Overall, I enjoyed this movie. The two new characters : Sandman and Venom, made the movie more interesting. Oh, it's true that there will be Spiderman 4, but it's not official yet. Tobey Maguire might be replaced by Jake Gyllenhaal (co-star of the infamous Brokeback Mountain). And did I forget to mention that Topher Grace is so charming? Even though he's more known as Eric Foreman from the 70's Show, I think he's bad-boy image and advancing acting skills will pay off soon enough. In other words, we'll see more of Topher Grace. Yay xD

Introducing men in crotch-hugging suits.

If you enjoy slapstick act then this is a movie for you. I admit that the movie was humourous. I just couldn't endure Will Farrell's silly horny act. He's such a sex maniac. This movie makes figure skating look bad. Like they said, "as though figure skating isn't gay enough already..." My stomach wrench everytime I see the pair skate on ice. Especially the scene where Will had to balance Jon Heder by holding his crotch. Seriously. I shuddered throughout the movie. But I have to say that the jokes that they cracked was hilarious!! For the record, I CAN'T STAND WILL FARRELL!

Not for the weak-hearted, elderly and children

Very very very extremely wholesomely extraordinarily GORE!!! Thankfully when I watched this it was long after lunch time. Even the opening of the movie held a very very extremely gore scene. I don't know the right words to describe it. It was stomach wrenching I tell ya! Compared to first one, it was such a disappointment. This movie is not exactly a continuous of the previous one. So, you can actually watch this without refering to the first movie. This time, the victims were a group of soldiers instead of a low profiled family. The extra bloody gut-tugging scenes really adds on to it's extremely violent image! It's actually much worse compared to SAW. This movie just holds slaughters without a reason. Did I mention that it's so so so GORE??!!

This isn't exactly a latest movie. Little Miss Sunshine was released in July 2006. I don't think it was ever aired in Malaysian cinemas. So, it's rather limited. First heard of it in the Academy Awards. This film won an award of the Best Original Screenplay. So, I bought the DVD recently and watched it yesterday. It was great! I haven't laughed so much in a very long time. No, I'm not a sadist, it just proves how good it was xD The film is about a dysfunctional family. The father (Greg Kinear) is a hopeless motivational speaker who came up with a 9-step programme for success. He has this silly philosophy of Losers and Winners, which was really really annoying and all you can ever say to him was "Shut the fuck up already!". The mother (Toni Collete) is a pro-honesty person who has a suicidal Proust scholar as a brother (Steve Carrell). The grandfather (Alan Arkin) is a cocaine addict with a sexually active past. The brother (Paul Dano) took a silence vow until the day he joins the Air Force Academy. Well, he eventually found out that he was colour blind... Last but not least, the daughter (Abigail Breslin) whom is so into pre-pubescent beauty pageant BUT really really suck at it. All these ingrediants adds up to a prefect eccentric family. Great show. I recommend to all. Oh, but I have to mention that the ending was really silly so it will slightly disappoint you in the end. =D

Steve Carrell is now on my list of Favorite Comedians. He just makes me laugh till my tummy aches. His new upcoming movie Evan Almighty is a remake of year 2003 Bruce Almighty (Jim Carey). Yeap, he's that competative fellow reporter. Dang it! I should have watched The 40 Year-Old Virgin also acted by Carrell!

Evan Almighty

Better Late Than Never

These are other movies to anticipate xD
