Request For A Heaven Sent?

Linkin Park - Leave Out All the Rest

Oh, finally!
Went out to quench my movie thirst.
Boy, did I like that feeling when my ass landed on GSC's comfy seat :D
Watched Twilight!
Gonna review about it.
So if you're not a movie person, then you may click on the little red button on the top right hand corner.

Copyright © 2008 Yahoo! Inc. All rights reserved
Picture's a bit distorted at the top.
Had to print screen, steal it in other words.
Somehow Yahoo! has disabled the feature to right click and save :(

I didn't read the story.
So, I wasn't expecting much... Compared to the swarm of fans waiting outside the cinema o.o
Mostly squeaky girls. Or should I say giggly girls ;)
Anyway........ I thought it was gonna be some cliche "girl fell in love with a vampire" kinda story.
But Jean's totally crazy about Twilight, so I thought no harm catching it...
Seriously, no regret.
It made me wanna read Stephenie Meyer's fantasy that sent all the girls flying.

Robert Pattinson

Yeap. Cedric Diggory who was killed and made girls go ballistic for murdering the character.
This is where he "reigned" and took the leading role.
Oh, how I melted when he first appeared.
I wouldn't say his acting was on the top notch.
I felt that he could have done a better job, portraying the character.
But it wasn't all bad. He did succeed in making the crowd go "Ahhh... *swoon*"
Seriously, I know this would sound like "oh look, another screen crush..."
But no, really... My heart literally stopped beating when he said a line so passionately...
"I would do all I can to protect you. You're my entire life now."
Yeah I know, it's the character.
But you've gotta admit, Rob pretty hot and juicy himself xD

IN THE MOVIE that is...

Such a turn off ain't it??
It's the hair! Definitely the hair!
And of course, not a very flattering angle. Heh.

So, enough of Rob Pattinson...
Back to the rest of the cast...

Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser

I fell for Carlisle (Peter Facinelli) the most :D
Everytime he appeared, I would just gasp "OMG he's hott!"
That prolly annoyed Jean one to many times ;) Sorry!
If Elizabeth Reaser look familiar to you, think Alex's crazy suicidal girlfriend aka Jane Doe from Grey's.

Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black
Also another familiar face...
Taylor who you ask??

Sharkboy and LarvaGirl 3D (Year 2005)

Boy, has he grown in 3 years!
Yes, I would know.
It WAS an occasional re-run movie at home.
My younger brother always get stuck with a movie and watches it a grizzilion times.
Now it's Hellboy 2. I know... Go figure.

The Cullens

Beautiful cast I would say.
They all looked so EXOTIC.
Especially Ashley Greene (3rd from the left) who played Alice Cullen.

Okay... Enough about the PEOPLE behind it.
I liked the storyline. Totally underestimated it the first time.
Maybe it's not all great for a movie. I think it's much better as a book.
Wouldn't know for sure, haven't read.
Although it's good to bring in to skin for the fans (MILLIONS OF EM).
Made me wanna read the entire collection, which is a good thing.
I still think all of em could have done a better job on the acting.
Rather mediocre. Not entirely believable.
No doubt, worth the watch.
But heads up, fans. You'll be disappointed.
Because apparently, they cut out a lot of scenes.
So don't expect it to be as great as the book.

Production of movie : effects were great...
Great location too. Beautiful scenery, very breath taking.
The best part? The music!
It was awesome. Great line up of soundtrack. Well picked :)
Especially 'Supermassive Black Hole' by Muse.

Now I'm gonna borrow the collection from Jean.
I know I said it's just gonna be a CLICHE story.
Movie changed my mind ;)
Although Jean told me one third of the entire series already xD
Saying that she was excited about the movie would be an understatement.
Well, I have to say.. Stephenie Meyer's books really sent some people into the world of fantasy.
Coughs coughs... No doubt.

I shall scurry off.
Have a huge excitement sitting on my bed, waiting patiently for me to open up.
Nope, not a bloke. I wish. Heh (rob rob rob rob) :D

I finally have time for these!!!
Thanks nutty <3

The Last Chapter

Teddy Geiger - Look Where We Are Now

i seriously SERIOUSLY need to start clearing up my music playlist :/

Omg.
Tomorrow's the LAST day.
Bet it's gonna get rather teary....
I might get rather teary...
Geez... hope not hope not :s
I'm gonna miss everyone!
So much memories there, and I feel so heavy-hearted to leave it all behind.
I know I rant a little too much about SMKTS.
No doubt, things can get rather silly over there.
And all the bullshit issues they make highlights off.
Nevertheless... I'm gonna miss all that *sniffs*
Been 5 years, that's definitely gonna leave a mark.

!!!
Ugh... Ptrr...
Was gonna upload some pictures for reminisce.
But NOOO... Stupid blogspot...
What's up with blogspot nowadays?!
Been having some trouble uploading pictures.
Hmph... Totally potong steam!
I shall do that some other time.
Have some hilarious photos to update ;)

I better drag along a whole box of tissue tomorrow :'(

Toe Across the Line

Joy Zipper - Go Tell The World

okay... I need to refresh my music list :|

Almost there!
Seems like the stupid exam period has ended already.
EST to go, and well, who actually studies (as in MEMORIZE) EST.
I can finally sleep in peace without equations swimming and floating around in my dreams :)

Oh, the breeze of freedom.
I think my dad's worried to death.
He's been asking me to "sit down" for a talk ever since it was nearing the end of exam period.
It's very rare!
Not that we don't talk... But it's weird...
Like one of those "father-daughter" serious... dead serious talk.
He kept interrogating me about my pre-college plans.
Like as though I'm gonna run BUTT-NAKED around PJ city, for crying out loud xD
That's prolly an interesting task to add on the list-of-things-to-do-before-dying

Speaking of which!
List of things to do!
Well, I haven't really thought about it in depth.
But first things first....
CLEAN ROOM :D
It's like a war zone in there...
Wonder how I managed to survive in there for the past 3 weeks.
Maybe because I barely spent 4 hours a night there...
Ahh... I'm getting my shweet shweet sleep cycle back!
Whoot whoot.
I'm so energetic now, I can't even shut my eye to take a nap xD

I'll leave it as a short post today...
I'mma watch the 5 episodes of Gossip Girl in my ext. drive waiting anxiously for meh!

Hmm... Don't you just love the scandalous dish?

toodles.

Crap...

Oh gawd... Biology is less than 10 hours away.
The extra three days wasn't enough x|
I have a baaaaaaad feeling deep down in my gut.
Shit shit shit...
So much to memorize.
My memory's overloaded. For sure...
PLUS, I haven't touched Physics in almost two weeks.
And it's the day after tomorrow. Eeeek.

Geez.
Why the hell am I doing here.
Better get back to memorizing shits... x|

Minutes To Yodelling

Until June - Sleepless

Omg.
Struggled like CRAZY to stay awake during Add Maths' first paper today!
It was definitely THE breaking point.
I lost control of my hands and my writing was horrendous, my sympathies to the examiner...
Yawned 2391736124192 grizzilion times till my jaw aches.
Basically I went against what all our add maths teacher was telling us from day 1 :
NEVER STAY UP LATE A DAY BEFORE ADD MATHS PAPER!
Well, ain't entirely my fault.
I just couldn't sleep.
Tossed and turned for hours and my mind couldn't stop thinking.
I dream about X and Y the whole night!
Not funny...
It was torturing...
But somehow, SURPRISINGLY, I was wide awake during the second paper.
I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said my eyes were as wide as an owl.
The paper didn't turn out as expected.
Expected it to be easy... Well, not a piece of cake, but at least doable.
Complicated as hell.
Now my back hurts.

*grumblegrumblegrumble*
what?! i'm feeling cranky... and the rain's adding to my sorrow...

Oozing into cinemas soon...

Nyeheheh!
I'm so catching this!
Remember the Exorcism of Emily Rose?
Jennifer Carpenter's back, starring in another chilling movie.
One word : Zombies!
Teehee...
Only out for sneak previews here. As late at 12 am.
It'll be so cool to check it out that late :D
Sigh... Soon soon..

4 more days...
All the science papers left...
Waiting anxiously!

LONDON – At least someone is excited about "meh."

The Simpsons make their mark on the dictionary!

The expression of indifference or boredom has gained a place in the Collins English Dictionary after generating a surprising amount of enthusiasm among lexicographers.

Publisher HarperCollins announced Monday the word had been chosen from terms suggested by the public for inclusion in the dictionary's 30th anniversary edition, to be published next year.

The origins of "meh" are murky, but the term grew in popularity after being used in a 2001 episode of "The Simpsons" in which Homer suggests a day trip to his children Bart and Lisa.

"They both just reply 'meh' and keep watching TV," said Cormac McKeown, head of content at Collins Dictionaries.

The dictionary defines "meh" as an expression of indifference or boredom, or an adjective meaning mediocre or boring. Examples given by the dictionary include "the Canadian election was so meh."

Life's currently so "meh"!

I'm currently hunting for a Bart baby-tee.
attention e-shop owners ;)

Well, I'm off to stock up on my caffeine.

System Gone Crackers

Aqueduct - The Suggestion Box

Thank God for the three days of rest.
I'm pretty sick of the school hall.
I sit just a stone throw away from the doorway.
And boy, do I get a free sun tan from 11.30am onwards till I'm melting like a Popsicle stick.
Not to mention, for those of us who have to go through the Taman Megah quadruple traffic lights to get to school,
that idiotic traffic system easily tests your patience for 3 long minutes (3 mins is friggin long for a traffic light wait)...
we have no time to go home for a quick shower!
Imagine being stuck in your stinking uniform...

Quoted countless ranting students : "Where got mood to study now HAH? CB..."

Wednesday was hilarious cause everyone was debating whether to flee home for a bath...
Sejarah paper 2 was after lunch break, and obviously there's no time for a nap during that stinkin' paper...
And of course, this coming Tuesday would be another big Hoo Haa!
After all the complaints and issues posted in the papers, they shifted the Moral paper 30 minutes later...
Just brilliant!
Now our beloved time in school is extended half an hour longer.
Just great!
And you would think that people would keep complaining right?
Nope, everyone just shut up.
I believe it was a silence due to utter disbelieve!

Seriously, I strongly dislike our education system.
It's just built up in the way to push us to our boiling points.
Studying is fine.
Sitting for exams... fine...
Sleep deprived.... okay... fine...
MOVIES deprived.... hmph... *groans* fine...
But three full weeks of papers, practically all based on memorizing?
You've gotta be kidding me...

And if you would say...
"Oh, come on! There's only three weeks of sacrifice. It'll all be over in a blink of an eye."
Yeah, but it was 11 years of hard work that all comes down to this point...
So, the issue isn't about the three weeks... Or one to two months of preparation so to speak.
It's backed up all the way to the stage of UPSR and PMR.
The countless brain cells we've killed.
If it's all for a good grade. Then, yeah... I guess that's the way it should be.
But what does 10, 12 or even 13A1 mean nowadays??

Read today's newspaper, Views section page F31
Or just read it here

Wong Chun Wai hits right on the glitches of our country's education system.
The examination bar has been lowered to bar none over the past three decades...
So really, for those who strived so hard will be in par with those who were just plain "lucky".
Is that fair?
Even colleges are now only offering full scholarships to those with a minimum of 11 A1s.
So there goes those of us who takes only 10 subjects.
Bear in mind, to take an extra subject, the school requires a comfirmation from a private tutor to allow you to sit for that extra subject during SPM.
How bout those who can't afford anymore extra classes?? (Both money & time)

It's the enigma of getting straight As that's really perplexing.
My brother came home the other day in tears when he got his UPSR results back.
He was only one A short.
I would totally understand the pressure he's on...
Partly because of sibling rivalry and to impress my parents.
But I think the whole lot is because of the school.
They pratically chant and sing songs emphasized on "5A! 5A! 5A!".
Drilling the minds of 12-year-olds to be competetive in a wrong way.

Back to the point, getting straight As is not a rare deal anymore.
I know some of us who looks at SPM and ask, is it really important?
Since it's not a big deal to those who have obtained 13As when compared to the ones with 16As.
Most jobs requires more than just a paper to impress...
So do we really need it?
I think the main question is : Is it worth it?
Well, in my opinion, no it's not worth it...
But you know what? We have to live by it.
The system is set in this way, and we have to abide by it no matter how much the anguish.
We just have to adapt to it...
By the end of the day, the PAPER is the first key to entering the gates of higher studies.
So no matter how pointless the PAPER is, no doubt we still need it.
At this point when we are already three quarters way into the education system...
we just have to work hard for that piece of PAPER,
and later on ponder about the importance of skills needed for entry across the sea.

I think we can only hope that by the time the younger generation (not that we're old xD) gets to this stage, the system would be reviewed and polished.
I'm really extremely worried about my brother...
He's already so devastated over his UPSR results, and it's only a tiny step into all these examination screw ups.
Can't imagine how he'll cope later on.

Damn it...
I should have chosen the topic "Examinations : Good or Bad?" in the English Essay paper.
That was the perfect place for students to rant and lash out their opinions.
Damn it damn it damn it...

Better scurry off now...
As said, it ain't over yet, kiddo...

Just A Little Help

Okay, I know I'm suppose to be on a hiatus.
Just something I figured out last night...
This may help those who's going nuts and haywire due to studying Sejarah.

No doubt Sejarah is THE hardest subject to study.
There's so much to memorize.
And even the tips and ramalan ain't helping much.
So...

My lil bro's doodle whiteboard has now become my battle tool :D

Remember all those mind mapping stuff that the teachers always ask us to do in class?
I know it seemed like bullcrap at that time.
My advise, do try it out. It works.
Maybe not for everyone. But it's working for me.

Reasons:
1. You won't feel as sleepy compared to studying straight from a book.
2. You can see it more clearly and remember easier.
3. Photographic memory will help!
4. You can make connections and understand better.

For example... (refer above)
Sumbangan Bani Umaiyah...
Do you see how Cordova appears so many times?
Many contributions came from that place.
So in case a question might come out...
"Berikan sumbangan/perkembangan di Cordova semasa pentadbiran Bani Umaiyah" or something like that.
You wouldn't go, "Wtf. It's not in the book!"
It's all there, just that it's not accumulated into one sub topic, so it's not as easy to see.

This is just an example.
There're many other ways which it can aid in too.
Like how the Kesan on Pentadbiran and Perundangan interconnects.
So when you remember one part, the other would come by easily.
Use mind mapping, you'll be able to see it clearer.
If you don't have a whiteboard, just use rough paper and conteng all over.
Seriously, you won't feel as sleepy.
Cause your mind will be busy scanning out important points.
Thus, it'll be drilled into your head.

Another advise, don't jot notes!
It would deplete the point.
Just mind map the keywords, stare at it for a few minutes, capture as much as you can.
Then, close your eyes and try to form sentences based on words that you've read from the text book.
Helps in essay!

If you think this is time consuming. Trust me it's not.
It's better than just reading from a book for 4 hours straight...
And every 15 minutes I bet your mind will go flying to some Fantasy Land of your own
and you'll find yourself going "Oh crap... Where was I?"
then you have to read it ALL OVER AGAIN.
or... "Shit I've been spending the past half an hour on the SAME PAGE!"
Give it a shot!

Hope this helps.
I know it's VERY late for this kinda crap.
This is the only LAST AND FINAL resort I know...
Well, better late than never!
Good luck!

Temporary Hiatus

Anna Nalick - In The Rough

I'll be on a temporary hiatus.
Updating too often at the wrong times.
So I need some self control.
Next week would be the most stressful one of all three.
Although some might think English and Mod Maths is just a bunch of sap sap water...
But it's Sejarah and Komsas on the same week that's killing me.
Memorize memorize memorize....
Stupid education system.

I suddenly realize how much I would miss school.
Just this morning I was dreading to pull myself outta bed...
But when the school bell rang today, it might be the last time I would ever hear it.
Not that I haven't heard enough of it since the bell is less than 10 feet from where I'm sitting in class.
Technically today was the last day of "school".
We won't be getting anymore crap from the teachers, in other words.
I'm kinda gonna miss that. Ironically...

So, this morning we had some inspirational speeches from our teachers.
You see, no matter how emotional or bombastic a Malaysian teacher can get, he/she can never pull off a Samuel Jackson from Coach Carter.
Never, period.
It just comes off cliche.
Every motivational sentence our teacher gave us, just made me go...

"That sounds familiar..."
"Bet he plucked that out from somewhere..."
"Oh look! Confucius says......."

Not that I don't appreciate the effort of motivating us.
I'm just saying it's not as effective as those inspirational stuff we see on television.
The school just proved to us how terrified they are of "students gone wild".
They practically asked us to "Leave the school's premises IMMEDIATELY" after our last paper.
Geez... It's not like we're gonna blow up the place or something...
Even if any of us are planning to, with today's technology, we can make a football field blow up a mile away.
Not that I'm implementing any, God forbid!!
If that really happens, IT'S NOT ME! *evil grins*

Should have gone to school more often.
Spend the last days with all of em' friends.
But then again, attendance was only 15 out of 40.
Those were the amazing scenarios.
Normal days? Attendance below 10.

Bah. I shall save the reminisce post for another day.

Just less than 48 hours till SPM, I decided to go out for lunch :D
Haha. Sounds pathetic doesn't it?
Actually mummydearest decided that I need to step outta the house. Amazingly.

When we were getting into our car....
A poor little Psyduck looking creature leaped off the 5 storey building onto my dad's windscreen.
Made us all chant "What the heck is that!" at the same time.
My lil bro actually poked it and asked us if it was still alive.
Retardedly cute isn't it?
I'm referring to the duck. I swear :D

Went to Wendy's @ Palms Square, Jaya One for lunch.

Wendy's wasn't up to what I expected.
I prefer Carl's Jr.
Planning to write a letter to the CEO or whoever to open up a place there or somewhere nearby.
The one in OneUtama is friggin stinky!
Try passing by for a sniff if you didn't notice.

Palms Square's not a bad place.
It has a pretty unique and modern design.
Walled with tinted glass and supported with metal frames.
The only downside to it, is that it can get really really extremely hot in the afternoon.
Totally cuts off the mood to walk around.
Then again, it's more popular for its nightlife.

Hallo Cafe!

I officially label this as the Double L's hangout spot.
You can see red heads, yellow heads, blue heads, golden heads, maroon heads, highlighted heads, semi-highlighted heads, bleached head, semi-bleached head, anime-yamagatamakuchi head...
You name it. All sorts.
Oh, and to top it all up...
The minute you take out a camera, they would jump right at ya, stick out their signature "v"s and smile "KAWAAIII!!"
No, that didn't happen.
I'm just describing how they look like.

Golf & Mike
Change the "Mike" to "Pike" and we can all go for a swing there!

And as I was leaving, I saw this banner...
Some kind of music function co-organized by HALO Cafe.
First the HALO doesn't seem like a trendy or cool typo.
Then some other Beng-genius came up with a tagline "Let's Eat Music".
Go figure.

Pink cars make me tummy wrench. No idea why.
Totally reminded me of the Scooby van!
Just pink instead of green...

Anyway, the place's still pretty empty.
There're still many vaccant shop houses.
I think it'll be a great place to start a business, albeit the occasional traffic jam.
Was stuck in traffic for half an hour!

There's a German pub there... Or is it Danish?
Can't remember.
Didn't manage to snap a picture of it cause' the owner looked like a pretty scary bouncer.
Looks cool, nice place to hangout during the night.
I recommend to check it out.

Well, back to "work".
4 more days to go all out!
Gonna be Missing.In.Action for a while.

Toodles

Obama's all grins and smiles
Copyright © 2008 Yahoo! Inc. All rights reserved.

I just realised how utterly long winded the US election process is.
It's like their list of states results never ends.

Omg. It just struck me that it's LESS than a week till exam.
I should be running up the hills right now, but my ass's still stuck onto the couch.

Since I'm TV deprived....
I'm reverting to coloured comic strips :D

I like reading Dilbert once in a while.
It's like a future outlook to the constant torture in the office.

Dilbert has a dog named Dogbert

And do you realise how Dilbert's tie always sticks out like a boner?

Somehow Dilbert always remind me of Drew Carey.

His LOOKS.
God forbid, I don't mean the boner!

Which reminds me, the new season of Whose Line Is It Anyway is back on StarWorld...
and I can't watch!

System Overturn

U2 - One Step Closer

Go to Yahoo! for instant updates

Tomorrow's a big day for the big US.
It's gonna be really exciting.
Kinda obvious who's gonna turn up victorious!
And when they say numbers don't count, that's total bullcrap!

Barack Obama

America's heading towards a change.
Thumbs up to them for that.
They really need to get outta the hole they've been digging up for themselves.
Obama has hopes and dreams to fulfill.
MILLIONS of hopes and dreams!
His supporters are aplenty!

Quoted from today's newspaper : Everyone wants an Obama t-shirt!

Imagine how heavy the burden he has to carry on his shoulders.
I don't know much about American politics...
But my New Zealander neighbour came over and "educated" me a lil' here and there.
Previously I knew nuts about 'Democrats' and 'Republicans'.
Yeap, I do live in a shell sometimes.
But know I do! Let me have my moment of pride :D
I heard a lot of dissing about George Bush who's a republican.
And how McCain doesn't wanna be associated with him in his campaign.
Basically, now the Republicans are more focused on fighting for seats in the congress.
The story goes on, but I'm feeling lazy.
Plus my facts may not be right.
After all, I got all these info a NEW ZEALANDER O.O
Go figure...

Poor John McCaine. Overshadowed by the image of doomed Republicans.

Tomorrow will be a mark in the United States of America's book of political history.
I think Malaysia needs a tiny drop of ink too.
We need the change as well!
I'm waiting to see some!

Dear Obama,
Blow over your "Wind of Change"!

Well, I'm off to reunite with my beloved Sejarah text book.
We'll be spending quality time till 4 in the mornin'

Don't ever wanna have to go & give you up
Stay up till Four In The Morning & the tears are pouring
& I want to make it worth the fight

It's Gwen Stefani FYI.
No, I've not gone BANANAS. YET!

Clinging Parasite

Gomez - Notice

Where do you see yourself when you're 35 years of age?
Pretty much settled down with a stable career and maybe even married and with a family, right?
Lately I've been thinkin... maybe that's a bullshit stereotype.
My barnacle cousin has been lodging at my loft for more than 2 months now..
with no sign of budging!
And I'm on the verge of literally kicking him out of the house.
He's come all the way from Penang after being chased by debts (nope not taxes).
Apparently he's planning to settle down in KL by opening a restaurant.
Not a bad idea since he's a good cook and all.
We thought he might actually make it.
Hah. Think again.
For a 35-year-old "grown man", he had to drag his dad all the way here to scout a place for him.
His dad who's partially disabled due to a stroke!
He's billion dollar excuse? "I'm busy working"
Hah. Yeah right. Last night he came home from just to drop his laundry off and went off till 4am.
What else could he have done at those hours...
Funny, for someone in such a tight financial situation, he still has the mentality to go splurging.

You would expect a 35-year-old fella who calls himself a "grown man" (he's mentioned it a couple of times, no kidding) to be able to solve his own problems and leave his PARENTS out of it.
Seriously, at that age, parents are supposed to be free from any bonds, especially financially...
My uncle and aunt has gone into their late 50s and are supposed to be enjoying their retirement.
Imagine how sick and tired they feel for milking their kid for 30 years.
Seriously, he has no sense of responsibility whatsoever.
He doesn't even bother to bring his dad around KL for sightseeing.
My uncle's been so cooped up in the house
He came all the way to see his son and my cousin is either hardly around or
all he has ever done is sleep around like a friggin' pig!

I'm feeling sick, disgusted and infuriated.
The worst part is, I can't get outta the house.
Not when it's a week till SPM, and I'm already behind schedule.
There's so much I've not touched on yet.
Especially Sejarah. Oh, shit. :s
Anyway...
imagine, a 17-year-old
can see the shittyness and irresponsibility of a "grown man".
I think he should be very ashamed.
But I bet he doesn't even realize because he's so full of himself and he thinks life's easy to go by even though you have thousands of dollars worth of debts.
Seriously, some people can really take life for granted.
If only my mom could take a strict stand and kick him out of the house...
He would have to bang on the doors of his countless "girl-friends" who he CLAIMS he has.
I bet none of then would even lend a shoulder if they knew how irresponsible and remorseless he is!
I know it's heartless, but someone's gotta teach that ass a lesson.

Okay, I'm totally ranting out for no reason...
Today's act of idiocy and discontentment was the last straw!
I'm really trying to pick myself up to tell him off.

But he's more than 10 years my senior.
So it'll be disrespectful.
And the last thing I wanna do is to cause any family feud.
His problems definitely taught me about life.
Now I know what to avoid, and the last person I would ever wanna take after is him.

Living a pointless life with no goals and aspirations.

Plain pathetic.
